Outside of school, how can reading benefit you?

When we are younger, our school teachers have always said that we will always need reading even after school is complete. We didn’t want to believe them, but they ended up being right. Reading is a part of our everyday lives. We read at work, while we drive and also while we are surfing the web. Reading has and always will be an essential in our lives.

Reading is a part of our daily routine. Some people read their morning newspaper while they are drinking coffee. Others read from text messages to their favorite magazine. The people who commute daily read the highway signs to make sure that they don’t miss any exits on their way to work.

When we were younger we had tried to ignore reading as much as we could have.  Good thing our teachers gave us the heads up about all of this reading. They knew way more than we could have ever imagined.

Writing outside of school is useful in many ways. Everyone uses writing in their own way. People use it at their jobs, and at home. While others enjoy writing as a hobby, such as free writing and to even express how they feel at times. Others writing has become a career for them.

At jobs everyone writes daily, from small notices to emails there is always something that has to be written. All the writing that is done at work, is just a way to be able to communicate with others at the place of work. At home, the one thing from the top of my head that gets written down the majority of the time are the items that need to be bought. List after list is just to remind us of what we need to get when we go out to the store.

Many individuals like to free write. To them it seems to distract them from things that are going on in their lives that they wish to avoid. Free writing gives individuals many ideas of what they wish they can do. With all of the free writing, people enjoy it very much that they eventually get a career out of it. People become very passionate about this that it pays off extremely well for them.

 As a preference to myself, I am not much of a free writer. But if a very interesting topic comes up, then I can end up writing for hours. As an opinion as to why writing outside of school is useful, it helps me keep my tasks in order. I am able to remind myself of things that need to be done both at work and at home just by jotting down little notices for myself to remember. These small notes are much easier to remember if they are written down.
